1. Export each organization archive
The app already includes an organization export button. Open Organization settings -> Data Transfer -> Export archive to download the current organization's JSON archive.
- Sign in to the Invoice Master app.
- Open the organization you want to keep records from.
- Go to Organization settings.
- Open Data Transfer.
- Click Export archive.
- Save the downloaded JSON file in your own record system.
- Repeat these steps for every organization you own before deleting the account.
The archive is a structured JSON export of organization records such as contacts, companies, products, projects, invoices, quotes, bills, recurring invoices, tasks, time entries, inventory records, dunning records, portal records, and related line items or access records. For a general overview of export workflows, see Data Exports.
2. Download final files and reports separately
The organization archive is useful for structured records. It should not be treated as the only copy of every final business document you may need later.
- Invoice PDFs, quote PDFs, receipts, statements, or report PDFs you want as final documents.
- CSV exports from reports where a spreadsheet copy is useful for accounting or tax work.
- Uploaded files or attachments that you need outside Invoice Master.
- Records your accountant, bookkeeper, client, or team may need after account deletion.
3. Delete your account
When you have saved everything you need, open the existing Invoice Master account deletion settings.
Open account deletion settingsIf you are signed out, sign in first. Invoice Master will then return you to the account deletion screen.
After you confirm account deletion, we delete your sign-in account and remove most active workspace records from the primary application database. Uploaded files and some technical or workspace records may remain in active systems. Cancellation or downgrade does not delete data by itself.
Billing records, security logs, provider backups, transactional email records, and data held by service providers may also remain under applicable retention settings or where retention is legally required.
4. Support playbook
When a user asks how to export data before deletion, support can use this checklist.
- Confirm which organization the user wants to export.
- Tell the user to repeat the export for each organization they own.
- Explain that the archive is a JSON file for structured organization records.
- Remind the user to separately download PDFs, report exports, and uploaded files they need.
- Explain that account deletion removes the sign-in account and most active workspace records from the primary application database, while uploaded files, some technical or workspace records, billing records, logs, provider backups, transactional email records, and service-provider records may remain under applicable retention settings or legal requirements.
