What you can do

Create a public invoice URL

Add a public link from an invoice, copy the generated URL, and send it to a client or accounts payable contact without creating a recipient account first.

Let recipients review the invoice online

Anyone with the link can open a read-only invoice view with the customer and sender details, invoice number, dates, line items, totals, and invoice notes.

Offer a PDF download from the public view

The public invoice page includes PDF download support, so clients can keep the same invoice document for approval, payment, or accounting records.

Revoke access by deleting the link

Delete a public invoice link when it should no longer be available. Expired, deleted, or missing access links stop resolving through the public invoice route.

Use links for one-invoice access

Public sharing is useful when a recipient only needs one invoice URL. Invited client portal access is better when clients need signed-in access to shared documents over time.

Keep sharing separate from payment setup

Public invoice links focus on invoice visibility. When an invoice also has an online payment link, the public invoice view can surface that payment option separately.

Best for

One invoice that needs a quick link

Use it when a recipient only needs direct access to a single invoice instead of a full portal account.

No-login invoice review

Use it when the client should view sender, recipient, dates, line items, totals, and notes from a public page.

Invoice PDFs from the public view

Use it when the recipient should be able to download the invoice PDF from the same shared page.

Typical workflow

1

Prepare the invoice

Enter the customer, sender, invoice number, issue date, due date, line items, totals, and any invoice notes that should appear on the public invoice view.

2

Add a public link

Use the invoice public links control to generate an access link. Public link creation is a premium invoice-sharing action in the app.

3

Copy and send the URL

Send the generated invoice URL through email or another client communication channel when the recipient does not need a full client portal login.

4

Let the client review or download

The recipient can open the read-only invoice page, review the visible invoice details, and download the invoice PDF from the public view.

5

Delete the link when access should end

Remove a public link to disable it. The app also tracks link expiry, and expired links no longer provide public invoice access.
